Bondi Junction, Sydney, New South Wales
With primary considerations revolving around user sensitivity and difficult site constraints, Angel Mahchut sought to reinvigorate the existing Bondi Junction headspace centre - through the introduction of a physical and visual connection between levels.
Natural lighting was identified and realized as a main determinant in establishing positive mental health conditions, consequentially driving a corridor of illumination down an otherwise dark, narrow building.
The embodiment of a patient-centric approach is particularly important in the architectural health Care sector, guiding and determining all design decisions throughout the development process.
Angel Mahchut continue to be involved in the design of headspace centres throughout NSW.

With consideration of State Significant heritage items and Environmentally Sustainable Design initiatives, St Anne’s Catholic Primary School underwent a process of architectural unification, inserting a joining element with primacy between two pre-established wings of the school.
The project included the design of a new school library and influential ancillary areas including: a Covered Outdoor Learning Area, a new canteen, and a new General Learning Area.
Angel Mahchut was asked to respond to an innovative model of care, which included the design of four new specialised orthopaedic operating rooms and a 29 bed short stay ward.
From planning to the finishes selection, the design provides a highly functional state of the art facility centred around patient recovery and staff wellbeing.
St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney, New South Wales
This project sensitively inserted a new Renal Ambulatory Care service into the existing fabric of St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney.
Due to the nature of Renal Dialysis, and the difficulty imposed upon those involved, generous natural lighting was important when ensuring the mental wellbeing of patients.
While staying true to a patient-centric focus and simultaneously insuring minimal impact on existing hospital services, Angel Mahchut was able to achieve a standard which would become a benchmark for future projects.
This challenging project was constructed on the roof over an existing ICU and overlapped the footprint of the existing CSSD, whose function could not compromised. The new facility will increase the hospital’s operating capacity and allow the facility to service satellite sites.

Corian Spotlight
Corian® was selected as the primary wall lining material for the refurbishment of Operating Rooms at St Vincents Private Hospital Sydney, following a collaborative prototyping process including rigorous bacterial, chemical, stain and impact resistance testing. Critically, the seamless joining capabilities of Corian® allowed the walls to be constructed without any visible conventional joints which are natural weak points when striving for a completely clean environment.
The refurbishment was completed within an existing building and the flexible detailing properties of Corian® accommodated building movements and vibrations. The seamless joining, forming and lighting attributes of Corian® allowed exacting functional requirements with an aesthetically driven response. Radius-formed corners further assist with the ease of surface cleaning, which is essential in sterile environments such as Operating Rooms. Wall-washing perimeter lighting enhance the purity of Glacier White Corian® and distribute light evenly and without shadow.
The contrasting Corian® Colour Aspen was used to establish a ‘Services Reticulation Zone’, intended to rationalise the complexities inherent with medical services and associated outlets in Operating Rooms. The entirety of Corian® was cut, formed and pre-assembled off-site, significantly reducing site times and ensuring accuracy upon installation.
The client has embarked on a further programme of Operating Room refurbishment utilising Corian® as the selected wall lining.

Purpose built two-storey support accommodation featuring eight one and two-bedroom units, each equipped with an ensuite and a kitchenette. The facility also includes two communal living areas and shared outdoor green spaces
Short-term Living in accommodation for 156 naval personnel at HMAS Creswell. The buildings were constructed using Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA). Factory built panels were transported and erected on site which mitigated site constraints and remote site limitations.

From the beginning, the main design intention was to establish a clean and sophisticated atmosphere for the hospital’s main entrance, reception, and admissions facilities.
Designed and constructed alongside several major hospital upgrades, the new entrance needed to work in unity with neighbouring developments.
It was important for the hospital to project a contemporary image in line with its technologically advanced facilities.
The amorphous qualities of Corian allowed for the development of a flexible design framework - offering opportunities for complex curvature, and seamless finishes.

With a scope of work involving the construction of new science labs, a rooftop learning area, and general classrooms, Angel Mahchut was approached with the primary intention of providing an elevated learning experience for students.
Interwoven between different components of the existing campus, the project was initiated with the purpose of ensuring that the existing school could remain occupied and operational during the construction period.
Natural lighting coupled with the utilization of light materials facilitated the new additions implementation in a comfortable and unimposing manner.

This project involved the adaptive reuse of an existing warehouse building, requiring careful precision in the implementation of an administrative centre accommodating large scale conferencing and entertainment areas.
Flexibility was at the heart of the proposal, establishing a large array of meeting, negotiation and training rooms with operable walls. This strategy provided the potential for arrangements appropriate to the size and scale of functions accommodated.
A predominantly glass auditorium - carefully detailed with shape and material - became a subject of focus within the overall scheme, defining the buildings personality.
